I have updated my Family SEL website to include many helpful resources below for both caregivers and students during this unexpected school closure. Materials include optional social-emotional learning activities for children at all grade levels in addition to important local resources for caregivers. I have also created a virtual relaxation room for adults and children. Click here to access these resources.

My name is Jen Cutler and I am the Director of Counseling & Social-Emotional Learning for the Ashland Public Schools.

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

In the Ashland Public Schools, we are committed to cultivating both the academic and social-emotional growth of each student to help them develop into self-motivated, resilient, life-long learners. In order to accomplish this it is essential for families and schools to work together to address the social-emotional development of each student.

Please visit the Family SEL website to learn more about how we are addressing SEL as a district and access resources that you can use at home. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, ideas or concerns that I can help to address.    ~ Jen
